Voice Lines

Voice Lines is designed for voice-over projects that work with individual lines rather than video and a timeline. Upload an .xlsx file with target-language lines, generate the voice-over, and review each line in the editor. A script can contain a single line or a batch of lines. Reference WAV files can also be uploaded as an archive when the original recordings should be used as a reference for generation.

Before you start

Prepare two files:

  • Script (required) β€” .xlsx, one row per line

Voice lines script template.xlsx

25.1 KBβ€’ Spreadsheet

  • Reference media (optional) β€” .zip of WAV files (Required for performance transfer and TC/STC lines) Maximum file size: 500 MB

Step 1. Create the project and upload the files

  1. Create a new project and select the Voice Lines workflow.

  1. Upload your script as an .xlsx file.

  2. Map each column in your file to the corresponding field. Only TextΒ column is required; every other field improves the delivered performance.

Input filename

Filename of the reference audio for this line

Must match a WAV in the reference archive exactly, including extension. Leave empty for lines with no reference.

Section

Where the line occurs β€” chapter, scene, level or quest

Groups lines by context and keeps delivery consistent within a scene.

Speaker name

Character name

All lines sharing a speaker name are treated as one character and inherit that character's assigned voice. Keep names identical to your script.

Text (required)

Localized line to be voiced

Time constraint

Timing mode for the line

Context

One or two sentences of context

Situation, stakes, who else is present. Feeds delivery decisions the same way a context note does for a voice actor.

Speech prompt

VO direction for the line

Acting notes: emotion, intensity, delivery style β€” for example whispered, urgent or shouting over gunfire.

Output filename

Filename to deliver this line under

Preserved exactly in the export.

  1. Upload a .zip archive of original WAV files that could be used as a reference for target voicover. Each file must be named to match the Input filename value of the line it belongs to. (Optional)

Step 2. Assign the task

Open the task or assign it to the editor.

Step 3. Select voices to the Characters

Open the Speakers tab, or select the voice icon next to a character name in the editor.

A voice can be selected from:

If reference audio was uploaded for the project, it can also be used to:

Step 4. Prooflisten in the editor

Open the Script tab to review generated voice lines.

The script text is displayed on the left. Select a line to open its generated audio waveform on the right and play back the result.

If the uploaded script contains values in the Section column, lines are grouped by section. The number of lines in each section is shown next to the section name.

The progress indicator in the upper-right corner shows how many lines have been completed. For example, 2/8 means that 2 of 8 lines are complete.

Review a line

Select the Play icon to listen to the generated voice-over.

Select a synthesis version to switch between available generations and apply prompting to improve the performance.

To use Voice Acting, select the microphone icon.

Select the List view icon to open the full line specification imported from the script.

Select the three-dot menu to:

  • Add new chunk β€” add a new line.

  • Delete chunk β€” remove the selected line.

  • Clone chunk β€” create a copy of the selected voiced line.

Work with reference audio

If reference audio was uploaded, use Reference, Result, and Both to switch between:

  • the original recording;

  • the generated voice-over;

  • both tracks played together.

Select the ↔ icon to adjust the duration of the generated line to match the reference duration.

Edit the line

Use the cursor controls or select text to:

  • Add audio tag β€” add speech prompt or use it in brackets

  • Set alias β€” define how a word or phrase should be pronounced

  • Split chunk β€” divide the line into separate chunks.

If a line is split into multiple chunks, each chunk appears as a separate waveform in the result.

Move the waveforms to adjust their timing, for example to create a pause or position the chunks relative to each other.

Note: All chunks created from the same line are combined into a single output WAV file, as they belong to the same reference line.

Complete a line

After a line has been reviewed and completed, select the checkmark next to it. The checkmark turns green to indicate that the line is complete.

When all lines in a section are completed, the section is collapsed automatically. Select Reopen section to open it again and continue editing.

Save progress

Click Save progress to save the current changes made in the editor.

Step 5. Generate and export the result

After all required lines have been reviewed, select Generate result.

Processing starts for the project. After it is completed the result will be available for managers.

If the uploaded script included values in the Output filename column, these filenames are preserved in the exported files.
