How to Preserve Original Voice in Selected Segments through dubbing stages

This guide explains two methods for preserving original voice (OV) in selected parts of your media while dubbing the rest. Whether you mark segments as non-voiced during transcription or upload/edit a transcription that already excludes those segments, the system ensures that these parts remain untouched by synthesized voices throughout translation, lip-sync, and export.

Option 1 — Mark Segments as Non-Voiced During Transcription

1. Transcription Stage (Transcribing)

  • Identify the segments where you want to keep the original voice (OV).

  • Mark these segments as non-voiced.

  • These parts remain in the script but will be excluded from synthesized voice generation later.

2. Translation Stage

  • All previously marked non-voiced segments stay in the script.

  • They continue to be treated as non-voiced, meaning no synthesized voice will be applied.

3. Lip-Sync Stage

  • Complete any editing, then open the Sound tab.

  • Enable “Remove Original Voice.”

  • Result:

    • Non-voiced segments keep their original audio.

    • All other segments are dubbed in the target language.

4. Exporting

  • Enable the option to include non-voiced chunks in the exported script if desired.

  • Exported files will contain a mix of dubbed segments and preserved OV segments.

Option 2 — Upload or Edit a Transcription That Already Excludes OV Segments

If you prefer, you can preserve original voice by removing unwanted segments directly from the transcription:

1. Upload or Edit Transcription

  • Upload a custom transcription or adjust the machine-generated one.

  • Delete or exclude the sections for which you want to keep the original voice.

  • These removed segments will stay as part of the audio but won’t appear in the editable script.

2. Translation, Lip-Sync & Export

  • Since excluded segments are not in the script, they will never have synthesized voices applied.

  • When enabling “Remove Original Voice” in the lip-sync stage, all included script segments will be dubbed, while excluded audio remains in OV.

  • Exported files will reflect your script structure and preserved OV sections, meaning that the deleted segments won’t be included in the script.

Both approaches ensure consistent handling across translation, lip-sync, and export—giving you full control over which parts are dubbed and which retain their original audio.
