Pre-assign Editors Across the Project Pipeline

You can assign editors to all project stages in advance during project creation. This helps plan workloads ahead of time and ensures a smooth handover between stages.

Overview

When tasks are assigned in advance, editors are linked to specific stages before the project enters the pipeline.
Tasks become active automatically as soon as the project reaches the corresponding stage.

Assign editors during project creation

Step 1. Start creating a project

Go to Projects and click Create new project.

Step 2. Select tasks to assign

During project setup, choose the tasks you want to assign in advance (for example, Transcription, Translation, Voice selection, Prooflistening).

Step 3. Enable advance assignment

For each selected task:

  • Enable Assign editor now.

Step 4. Choose an editor

Select the editor who will be responsible for the task.

Step 5. Set a deadline (optional)

Optionally, define a deadline for the task.

How advance assignment works

  • The assigned editor will see the task in their Upcoming tasks list.

  • While the project is still in earlier stages, the task remains inactive.

  • As soon as the project reaches the corresponding stage, the task:

    • moves to Open status, and

    • becomes available for the assigned editor to start working.

Result

Advance task assignment allows you to:

  • plan the full production flow upfront,

  • reduce delays between stages,

  • and give editors clear visibility into upcoming work.
