Import voice recordings for voice acting (AAF)

Bring a finished voice recording into your project as a track and use it as voice guidance for AI voices in Voice acting. This option lets you import them into the studio as one AAF file instead of uploading clips line by line

Before you start

  • Your script is prepared in the Studio.

  • Your recording is timed against that same script. The system assumes the timecodes in your AAF match the timecodes of the script in the studio.

If your recording drifts from the script timing, matching still runs — but expect more chunks to need manual review.

Step 1. Import the AAF file

  1. Open your Lip-sync task.

  2. In the right-hand panel, open the Script tab and click the three-dot menu.

  3. Select Import Voice acting (AAF).

  1. Choose your file and click Import.

How matching works

The system compares the audio clips in your AAF against the lines in your Studio script and pairs them by nearest timecode. Each pair becomes a match candidate with a confidence percentage — how closely the system believes that clip corresponds to that line.

High-confidence pairs are marked Auto-matched. Everything else waits for your decision.

Nothing is applied to your project at this stage. Matching is a proposal you review.

Step 2. Review the results

After the import finishes, check the analysis report.

  1. Select the chunk you want to check. It opens in the panel on the right.

  2. Click Play to hear the line from your imported recording.

  3. Look at the suggested match candidates below — each one shows its text and match percentage.

Step 3. Resolve each chunk

Work through the chunks until every one is in Resolved status.

Accept selected candidate - The chunk moves to Resolved

Select a different line from the list - The chunk is paired with your choice

Create new chunk from AAF - A new chunk is created; you type the text yourself

Ignore AAF clip - The clip is excluded from the merge

Accept safe matches moves every Auto-matched line to Resolved in one click. Use it to clear the obvious pairs, then handle the remaining chunks individually.

Step 4. Apply the merge

When all chunks are Resolved, click Apply merge.

The system applies your imported recordings to the AI voices assigned to each chunk. This is the voice acting pass: your human performance becomes the guide, and the AI voices deliver the lines to match it.
