Subtitling in Dubformer Studio

Please note that you don’t need to manually split lines or control CPL during the transcription stage — the formatting will be automatically applied in the Subtitling task.

If you’re creating subtitles in the original language, just set the target language to match the source

To create a new subtitling project:

  1. Click Create project.

  2. Select the project type Subtitling.

  3. Set the required parameters in the Subtitling rules

  1. Choose the source and target languages as usual, and upload your media file. You can either keep the transcription editing as a manual task or automate it. Once the transcription is ready, a Subtitling task will become available.

In the Subtitling task, you will see the translated text automatically segmented according to the subtitle rules.

To split or merge subtitles, use the following buttons:

Split at cursor — divides the subtitle at the selected point.

Merge with next — combines the current subtitle with the next one

To insert a line break within a single subtitle, press Enter. A line break will be displayed as a newline symbol (↵).

When your subtitles are ready, click Preview and Download.

If any subtitles still contain lines that do not meet the defined parameters, a pop-up will appear showing the issues.

You can click on any subtitle to fix it manually, or select Continue anyway to proceed with the download.

Choose your preferred output format to download the final subtitle file.
